Pat Janeiro (PT) is a poet, visual artist and filmmaker currently living in Rotterdam, NL. Janeiro grew up in the 80s in Lisbon, PT, and has a background in Sociology studies. In July 2021 they earned their BA in Fine Arts at Gerrit Rietveld Academie and completed the Art and Research Honours Programme in collaboration with fellow students from the University of Amsterdam. Janeiro works primarily with film, digital and analogue, text and sound. Their works are improvised and experimental in nature, they explore the process of chaos and control of their making, they are rooted in lived experiences, drawn from influences and populated by friends. Janeiro’s latest research and BA thesis was centred on the transformative qualities of the cinematic.
